| Brighton has excellent
rail connections from all over the country, with 39 direct services
every weekday from Brighton Station [map]
to London Victoria just for starters.
The majority of these are express services that take around
50 minutes to reach their destination. From London Victoria
you can get connections to many cities in the UK either directly
or by hopping on the tube to London Euston or King’s Cross.
In addition to this there are a further 49 direct services every
week from Brighton to London Bridge, Blackfriars, Farringdon and
King's Cross, which are run by Thameslink that also has services
to Gatwick and Luton airports.
Southern offers regular services to Kensington Olympia and
Watford Junction for connections to the West Midlands, North West
and Scotland.
If you’re travelling into Brighton from the local area there
are frequent train services with direct links to Burgess Hill, Haywards
Heath, Three Bridges, Shoreham, Worthing, Littlehampton, Chichester,
Lewes, Eastbourne and Hastings.
There are also direct services to Reading, Portsmouth, Southampton,
Salisbury, Exeter, Torquay, Bath, Bristol and Cardiff run by a number
of operators including South West Trains and Wessex Trains.
Virgin provides a service to Oxford, Birmingham and Manchester.
