Luxury Hotels in Brighton |
 |
 |
Brighton first became
an English tourist resort in the mid-18th century when it was a popular
haunt for London’s rich and famous. More than 200 years on,
the city is still a catch for celebrities and it shows in the wealth
of swanky hotels you can find here.
The cream of the crop has to be The Grand [map],
which, true to its name, offers luxury five star accommodation with
all the trimmings. This landmark hotel on the seafront is elegant
in design and comes complete with first rate facilities, including
a 12-metre swimming pool, hairdresser, fitness club and restaurant.
Located in one of Brighton’s finest buildings is the famous
Hilton Brighton Metropole Hotel [map],
which has been providing plush accommodation for visitors for years.
The Metropole is perhaps the most comprehensive hotel in the city,
even outdoing The Grand in terms of leisure facilities, with its fitness
club, swimming pool, solarium, sauna, whirlpool and several top class
restaurants.
Also located on the seafront, the Thistle Brighton Hotel [map]
has all the amenities of a modern, four star international hotel as
well as a splendid location. A firm favourite with business guests,
this hotel offers extensive conference facilities, including a boardroom
with ceiling mounted projectors.
At the Thistle Brighton, you'll also find three restaurants, a bar,
24-hour room service, in-room movies, fitness club and sauna for those
who are looking to live the high life – for a few days at least.
Other classy hotels worth a look if the ones above are unsuitable
include The Belgrave [map]
and Queens Hotel [map],
which both offer modern and stylish accommodation with a few added
extras.
The Belgrave has wonderful marble bathrooms and trendy furnishings,
and is located very close to a string of hip bars, clubs and restaurants,
whilst the Queens offers great sea views and has many of Brighton’s
top attractions on its doorstep.
