For a warm welcome to
the city-on-the-sea why not stay at one of Brighton’s many attractive
and affordable guest houses, where comfort is the name of the game.
This may be a particularly good option if you're travelling with a
party as many of these small hotels welcome families and groups, although
they make sure lone travellers are also well looked after.
One option you might like to try is Valentine House Hotel [map],
a flower-decked spectacle located just minutes from the city centre.
This lovely little hotel, tucked away in a quiet square, offers guests
some respite from the hustle and bustle of Brighton, yet remains conveniently
central. The rooms are clean and comfortable and all of Brighton's
main attractions are within easy walking distance.
Situated on the seafront overlooking Brighton Pier and East Brighton
beach, the Amalfi Hotel [map]
is a friendly guest house close to plenty of restaurants and bars.
As well as a warm welcome, this hotel offers free parking in the forecourt
and comfortable surroundings, while the city’s main shopping
area is just a few minutes walk away.
If you want to stay close to the seafront then the Russell Guest
House [map]
is well worth considering as it is located only five minutes walk
away from the beach. This well established guest house is close to
several cafés and bars on the beachfront, as well as being
within walking distance of Brighton Centre and Churchill Square, making
it handy for business visitors and shoppers.
Also overlooking the sea, this time from the grandeur Brunswick Square,
is the aptly named Brunswick Square Hotel [map]
with its popular bar and dining room. Whether you’re a hotel
guest or just passing, the bar here is a great place to enjoy a drink
and soak up the wonderful Brighton atmosphere.
Each room at Brunswick Square hotel has a telephone and special diets
are catered for at breakfast. There are also baby-minding facilities
available on request so you can be free to enjoy a little retail therapy
at the closeby central shopping area.
Other guest houses worth a look are the Beach Hotel [map],
which is situated close to the seafront and has a great residents’
lounge, and Ainsley House [map],
a friendly, upmarket hotel in an attractive Regency terraced house.
