Cinema In Brighton |
 |
 |
As well as being home to Britain’s oldest picture house
– The Duke of York’s Cinema [map]
– Brighton also has a number of multiplexes and arts
cinemas.
The city’s busiest cinema is probably the Odeon [map]
on the seafront, which has several screens showing the latest Hollywood
blockbusters as well as its very own Haagen Dazs Café.
A little out of town at Brighton Marina, you’ll find UGC
Cinema [map],
another multiplex showing a mix of new releases and classic favourites,
whilst Cinematheque [map]
at the Brighton Media Centre has a wide range of weird and
wacky films.
For an altogether very different cinema experience why not head to
Ali-Cats [map]
on Brills Lane, which is actually a bar on the seafront that transforms
into an intimate picture house in the evening showing an array of
cult favourites.
Other venues where you can catch arts films include the Gardner
Arts Centre [map]
and the Ray Tindle Centre [map],
while at Sallis Benney Theatre [map]
on the University of Brighton campus you can see local history
films. |
