From traditional English
pubs to stylish wine bars on the seafront, Blackpool has a varied
choice of bars to ensure your night out is one to remember.
Most of the pre-club drinking goes on in venues along the Promenade
[map]
or in the centrally located Market Street [map]
area of town.
For a start there’s the hugely popular Boardwalk [map]
on Central Promenade, which has a lively atmosphere, good
drinks promotions and with the coolest DJs to make any night go with
a bang. The bar is open until 2am at weekends.
Also situated on the Promenade is Nellie Deans [map],
a late licensed fun pub with cabaret and karaoke entertainment
every night weekend. Open until 1am on Friday and Saturdays.
If you’re looking a chic drinking hole then head to Arriba
[map]
on the Prom, a stylish Mediterranean-themed bar with a
friendly and warm atmosphere.
Alternatively if a traditional pub is more your scene, then
opt for the legendary The Bier Keller [map],
which is one of Blackpool's longest established pubs.
Heading towards South Promenade near Blackpool Pleasure Beach, you’ll
come across plenty more fun pubs, including the Dutton Arms
[map]
that caters for the stag and hen party market.
Then if you wander over to Market Street you’ll find, amongst
others, the ultra-trendy N.T.K. bar [map],
which stays open until the early hours and was presented with the
‘Gold’ Pub of the Year prize in the 2000 Blackpool
Tourism Awards.
Also on Market Street is Brannigans [map],
which is part of a national chain and offers great entertainment
seven days a week, including top DJs, live bands and more.
For a taste of a Scottish theme bar head to The Jaggy Thistle
[map]
on York Street, a fun bar with a late licence and live entertainment
every night of the week.
Dubbed the ‘friendliest bar in town’, Churchills
Bar [map]
on Topping Street offers good food, entertainment, and TV screens
featuring live sports.
Other pubs well worth a visit during your stay include Copper Face
Jacks [map]
at the Norbreck Castle Hotel on Queens Promenade, which has a great
party feel, and Walkabout [map]
on Queen Street, an Australian theme bar with great cocktails
and shooters.
For family fun, check out the Ardwick Public House [map]
on Foxhall Road, which has a big screen, four TV's, a snooker table,
two pool tables, restaurant and family area.
