One of Belfast’s most important theatres is The Lyric [map],
Ridgeway Street. As Northern Ireland’s only producing theatre, The Lyric offers a great number of new dramas as well as classics and proves popular with people from across Belfast and further a field. The foundation stone for The Lyric Theatre was set in 1965 and can now be found above the doorway reading: “Look Up in the Sun’s Eye”. This quote has lead the innovative path Lyric has taken to bring together communities through performances.
