Accomodation in Belfast |
 |
 |
Central Belfast has really
turned its tourist industry around, and this includes the range of
hotels too. It’s easy to find a place to stay with a range of
accommodation to suit every budget.
Those hoping to stay in style should head to the Golden Mile
and try the four-star hotels around this area.
A firm favourite with distinguished travellers is the Europa Hotel
[map],
Great Victoria Street. This hotel has the dubious distinction of being
the most bombed hotel in Europe, making it a tourist attraction in
its own right, but that was then, and this is now. With a stylish
lobby bar from which to watch the world go by and in a prime location
across the street from the Grand Opera House [map]
and the Crown Liquor Saloon [map],
this hotel tops the chart when it comes to
luxury. If you want to push the boat out further book into the
Bill Clinton suite, the very room he stayed in during one of
his three visits to the city when he was president.
Those with a disability will find particularly accessible rooms at
McCausland Hotel [map],
Victoria Street. With rooms specifically adapted to provide room for
wheelchairs, the McCausland offers comfortable accommodation in a
magnificently restored landmark.
If you’re looking for a familiar name you can’t go wrong
with Hilton and the Belfast Hilton [map],
Lanyon Place, offers the kind of luxury you’d expect from such
a distinguished brand. In a prominent place in the new Laganside development,
the Hilton is a flagship hotel in the area representing the optimism
in the regeneration since the ceasefires in the mid-90s.
Tourists looking for something a bit cheaper will find plenty of great
youth hostels and university accommodation in the area. Youth hostels
here are perfect for those travelling with large groups of friends
or even if you’re hoping to make new friends whilst you travel.
Get out of the city and enjoy some beautiful scenic views of County
Antrim from your bedroom window or tuck into a traditional “Ulster
Fry” by booking into a cosy bed and breakfast.
