Belfast is unique in
the British Isles in that it is one of the few cities to be serviced
by two major airports.
The Belfast City Airport [map]
is conveniently located in East Belfast and is serviced by the major
airlines. The airport handles mainly UK flights from London and some
smaller airports in the UK, Isle of Man and Channel Islands. It is
a small, efficient airport with train and taxi links to the city centre.
This airport is fully accessible for people using wheelchairs and
has good car parking facilities, as well as plenty of parking for
people with disabilities. There’s also public toilets, snack
bars, places to pick up a sandwich and baby-changing facilities in
the lounges.
There’s also a selection of conference facilities available
to business travellers including secretarial support and two well-equipped
conference rooms. Belfast International Airport [map]
is situated just 18 miles north west of Belfast and is serviced
by a smaller selection of airlines including BMIBaby, Eastern Airways
and Easyjet.
Once you’ve landed you should have no problem getting into the
city centre as the Airbus service operates between the airport
and Belfast city centre every 30 minutes, Monday to Saturday, and
at 30 or 60 minute intervals on a Sunday. For
