Libraries in Bath |

Libraries are no
longer the stuffy silent places one might remember from
their childhood. Now libraries provide a window to the
world and provide modern information portals across
the City of Bath.
Whether you want to surf the Internet, participate
in learning activities, entertain your children,
or simply sit in a quiet room and read a book,
you’ll find plenty to keep you occupied.
Bath is striving to offer the best when it comes to library
facilities and has implemented a 10 year plan that began
in 2002 to make its facilities amongst the most modern
and envied in the UK.
Bath Central Library [map] can be found at The Podium,
Northgate Street, and is a large building offering
a good selection of services including a vast reference
library. Here you can also surf the Internet, brush up
on your maths and English skills, learn a new hobby, participate
in family history sessions or borrow a DVD, computer game
or video.
To join the library in Bath you must live, work
or study in the area and have proof of ID (this could
be a utility bill with your address on). The City Council
is currently developing a method of joining the library
online so be sure to visit their website at www.bathnes.gov.uk. |
