Watersports in Bath |
 |
 |
During
the warmer months there’s nothing like the thrills
and spills of splashing about on the river to liven your
spirits and help you to get into shape.
The river Avon is a great place for all kinds of
water-related activities and you can start your watery
adventures at Bath Boating Station [map]
in Bathwick. Here punts and canoes can be hired for the
day and there's even instruction for punting novices.
The Bath Boating Station also has light refreshments on
offer for hungry sea-farers everywhere.
Before heading out on the Avon it might be worth learning
how to swim. This can be done at the Sports Training
Village, an award-winning leisure centre [map]
at The University of Bath.
Here you’ll have access to one of the best pools
in the city and you'll be able to take advantage of
lessons and beginners' sessions at certain times of the
day.
Once you’ve perfected your swimming, you might be
feeling even more adventurous. If this is the case get
yourself over to Scubaleisure [map]
on Clydesdale Road. Complete a course here and when
you're done in Bath, you can go off and explore some tropical
reefs and oceans. |
