Finding
a good vegetarian restaurant can be tricky, but
if you don’t want to eat meat why should you be
stuck with one or two options in an ordinary restaurant?
Thankfully Bath has a small selection of decent venues
for veggies and vegans.
Demuths [map]
on North Parade Passage, is a premier vegetarian and vegan
restaurant that caters for just about every dietary need
including cuisine for gluten and nut intolerant individuals.
The atmosphere here is warm and friendly and you’ll
find a menu consisting of globally inspired non-meat
dishes from Morocco to Thailand, all made with organic
ingredients. There’s also a wine list consisting
of organic favourites and vegan beers to tempt
you.
For somewhere chic and stylish that won’t break
the bank head to Porter Bar [map]
on George Street. This is one of the most popular places
to dine in Bath and it offers a range of dishes from bar
snacks to hearty meals, that just happen to not
contain any meat.
Even the most hardened carnivores love visiting Porter
Bar, for the delicious cuisine, excellent music and lively
atmosphere.
If you’re looking for somewhere that both meat-eaters
and veggies can enjoy head to Walrus and The Carpenter
[map]
on Barton Street, which is one of those “best kept
secret” type places.
The menu features everything from burgers and chips to
an excellent selection of Mediterranean vegetarian
dishes, and there’s plenty to whet children’s
appetites too.
