Horse Racing In Bath |
 |
 |
When it comes to
racing in Bath, there’s only one place to be seen
and that place is Bath Race Course [map] at Lansdown,
which is largely regarded as the West of England’s
premier race course.
Bath racecourse hosts around 18 flat race meetings
a year with a variety of weekday, weekend and evening
fixtures.
There are three enclosures from which to watch the action.
The first is the Premier Enclosure. This is where
you’ll see, depending on the meeting, the fancy
hats and finery.
The second, mid-price enclosure is the Grandstand and
Paddock Enclosure and this is the place for those
attending the meeting on a social occasion. Frequented
by work colleagues, those who want to dress up and party
and those keen to indulge themselves in the surrounding
bars and restaurant.
The third enclosure is the Centre Course Enclosure
which is the ideal place for being in the very heart
of the action. The Centre Course operates a far more laid
back policy and no dress code. This is the most
popular area for families who often bring picnics, deck
chairs and blankets and enjoy a full day of racing fun.
The thrill of the race isn’t the only attraction
on offer at Bath though, as the racecourse offers an excellent
hospitality package, perfect for those who don’t
want to blow all their money on the horses. |
