The Morning After in Bath |
 |
 |
When it comes to
easing the pain of a night of indulgence around Bath’s
many bars and clubs there’s nothing quite like heading
into town and finding a cosy bar or café in which
to enjoy a hearty breakfast, caffeine hit or healthy juice
alternative.
Those on the look out for a traditional café
that serves a large and satisfying breakfast should head
to Lovejoys Café [map]
on Bartlett Street, which serves a great English brekkie
with all the trimmings and a large mug of piping hot tea.
Another similar place is the Jazz Café [map]
on Kingsmead Square, which is one of those steamy little
cafes in the heart of the city centre. Grab a table and
tuck into the Jazz Café’s famous Big Breakfast
or sit outside for an al fresco wake up call on sunny
mornings.
The healthy alternative is Windows Café
[map]
on Lower Borough Walls. This organic café is frequented
by a distinctly “arty” crowd and offers a
good selection of wholesome goodies to get you back on
your feet or you could just sit back and enjoy the ambience
around you.
If you’ve had a heavy Friday night make Saturday
the day you visit the unusual Tai Tai Teahouse [map]
on Walcot Street, which is the only one of its kind in
England.
Tea has been highly regarded for its health properties
for thousands of years and this is the place to sip it
in style. If you book in advance you can even watch and
participate in the ancient Tea Ceremony.
