When it comes to art galleries you can choose modern or
old masters with the wealth of studio space available
in and around Bath.
The Victoria Art Gallery [map] has changing exhibitions
of modern art, fine ceramics, Flemish masters,
and English painters including Gainsborough, Turner, and
Sickert.
The Museum of East Asian Art [map] on Bennett Street
contains more than 500 jade, bamboo, porcelain, and bronze
objects from Cambodia, Korea, Thailand, China and Japan.
To see stars of the future head to The Hot Bath Gallery
[map],
Hotbath Street/Beau Street, which exhibits new and exciting
art from students of the City of Bath College and international
artists.
There’s several good contemporary galleries dotted
around the city centre. The first can be found at Six
Chapel Row [map], Queen Square, where you'll find fine and
applied art under one roof - a great place to broaden
your artistic horizons.
There's also Beaux Art [map]
on York Street, which is also a good place to see contemporary
arts along with sculpture and ceramics.
If you want to buy a piece of art for your own front room
head to Rooksmoor Gallery [map],
where you can pick up a contemporary work of art.
